Mathematical Modeling of Water-Soluble Astaxanthin Release from Binary Polysaccharide/Gelatin Blend Matrices

چکیده

Water-soluble AstaSana astaxanthin (AST) was loaded into 75/25 blend films made of polysaccharides (carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), gum Arabic (GAR), starch sodium octenyl succinate (OSA), water-soluble soy (WSSP)) and gelatin (GEL) at levels 0.25, 0.5, 1%, respectively. Due to the presence granules in AST formulation, supplemented exhibited increased surface roughness as compared AST-free films. Apart from CMC/GEL carrier, migration water (25 °C, 32 h) incomplete. Excluding CMC-based gradual rise concentration decreased release rate. The Hopfenberg with time lag model provided best fit for all series data. Based on quarter-release times (t25%), 0.25% AST-supplemented OSA/GEL film (t25% = 13.34 ensured a 1.9, 2.2, 148.2 slower GAR-, WSSP- carriers, According Korsmeyer–Peppas model, offered quasi-Fickian (n < 0.5) burst effect (t100% 0.5–1 h). In general, other multi-mechanistic > 0.5), i.e., controlled least by Fickian diffusion polymer relaxation (erosion) mechanism. 1% AST-added WSSP/GEL system most linear profile.

Modeling of drug release from collagen matrices.

Drug release from collagen matrices is in most cases governed by diffusion from swollen matrices but also enzymatic matrix degradation or hydrophobic drug/collagen interactions may contribute. To reduce water uptake and to prolong the release, insoluble collagen matrices have been chemically or dehydrothermally crosslinked. Assuming Fickian diffusion a one-dimensional model was developed and te...

Mathematical Modeling and Release Kinetics of Green Tea Polyphenols Released from Casein Nanoparticles

Drug release kinetics plays an important role in determining the mechanism of drug release, which in turn helps in formulating controlled/sustained release formulations. In our study, different concentrations of green tea polyphenols (GTP) were encapsulated into casein nanoparticles which showed a maximum encapsulation efficiency (76.9%) at a GTP concentration of 5 mg/mL. The casein nanopa...

Effect of Formulation Variables on Phenobarbital Release from HPMC Matrices

Controlled release swellable tablets of phenobarbital were prepared by a simple direct compression process using hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) as the matrix former. The effects of the viscosity grades of HPMC and HPMC/lactose ratio and ethylcellulose (EC)/sodium carboxymethylcellulose (NaCMC) and their concentrations on the release behavior of phenobarbital from HPMC matrices wer...

Binary Matrices in System Modeling

This primarily tutorial paper on the use of binary matrices in system modeling also includes new material related to the initial development of such matrices. The decomposition of binary matrices into levels such that all feedback is contained within the levels is illustrated. A method for developing a binary matrix en route to a structural model of a system is outlined. The development procedu...
